What is happening???

Ok, I am going to say this "I am totally freaked out!"
What is happening? I am sitting here watching the news and they just evacuated ALL the workers at the power plants in Japan! Who is there keeping those reactor from totally melting down? How is this going to after me in Wisconsin. I am not thinking that it won't affect me any more. I am scared! They are having after shocks that are measuring 6 on the ricter scale! These aren't just little after shocks! These are serious earth quakes!

  1. Times are scary as crap right now. We just keep praying for all the people in Japan.

  2. First off Micke, relax. Now you're probably thinking am I crazy to say that. No because they have safety measures they are using. Also the media is trying to scare everyone with facts that aren't always true. 99% of what the media says it's not accurate or the whole story. So don't pay attention to the tv.

  3. Yeah, you can calm down, at least about the nuclear stuff. Joe works in energy, remember? He even specifically worked FOR GE Nuclear, so he knows what he's talking about. The media is blowing this way way up. The worst thing that happens even if there is a 'total meltdown' is a minimal amount of radiation goes into the surrounding area, that's barely enough to register as a problem for people. The media just loves using "Nuclear" as a dirty word. Did you know there has not been a single death linked to nuclear power in the Western world?? Guess how many from coal mining? http://frankwarner.typepad.com/free_frank_warner/2006/01/us_coal_mining_.html
Maybe you should be worried about coal mining instead! ;) Reading up on these few nuclear stats may ease some of your fears: http://wins.engr.wisc.edu/VillainOrVictim/facts/main.html
